Sparkill "When you looked down at the 'kill' (Dutch for 'creek') you’d see the 'spars,' the masts of the ship. Thus: Sparkill. I love the derivation, and, being a kid from Brooklyn – I love being able to stand in the center of a town covered with new, untouched snow - this whole new England feel really grabbed me!”
Michael Gross
Sparkill was originally the first break in the palisades, and therefore an avenue for bringing goods, so it was originally a town of provision stores: a butcher, a spice merchant, and a tea merchant. It seems fitting that Michael and George, with their commitment to partnering with local purveyors, begin a new chapter in the town’s colorful history.
