SUMMER LIGHT
AN EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHS BY TOM ARTIN
FEBRUARY THRU MID-APRIL 2008
Tom Artin's Summer Light exhibition of 30 images on display at ReLish is part of a collection of over 100 images photographed in Sweden and along the west coast of Denmark between 1966 and 1985. Subjects range from landscapes, cityscapes and architectural studies to portraits. All are in color, photographed with a Nikon F and pocket-sized Olympus 35mm camera on Kodachrome and color negative film respectively. They were scanned at 4000 dpi, processed in Photoshop and printed on an Epson 4000 inkjet printer using Epson Enhanced Matte Paper.
Tom Artin is a photographer living in Rockland County, New York. He began taking, developing and printing images in the early 1950s. In 1956, he worked as a photographic assistant to LIFE Magazine photographer William Vandivert, one of the founders of Magnum. More recently Tom's work has been primarily in the fine-art category. He has also done fashion and other commercial photography for both print and the web.
Tom Artin's studio is in the Bel-Ans complex in Orangeberg, N.Y. He is currently on the artists' roster of Bruce McGaw Graphics, which produces and markets his images as fine art posters.
